  Two months into 2022, the real estate market continues to be robust.  The challenge, however, remains the same:  Inventory.  Buyers for both personal homes and investment property abound.  Competition is strong between buyers vying for the opportunity to "win the deal" with many properties in certain price points selling over list price with multiple offers.  

Today in East Baton Rouge Parish:   

Active Resale Homes: 395

Active New Construction: 182  (32% of all inventory)

Pending Resale Homes: 695

Pending New Construction: 287  (30% of all pendings)

Of particular note is that many of the new construction homes will not be available for up to 8 months due to supply chain delays and labor force challenges.
